| The leaves of Rodgersia
podophylla emerge a beautiful bronze colour and gradually turn greener
as they unfold. They never entirely loose their bronzy sheen except at the
very end of the season. Here their greenish bronze contrasts wonderfully
with the shadows and the dark background. This fully hardy herbaceous perennial
fully contributes to the exotic flavour of the 'rainforest' area of the
garden. There are several species of Rodgersia of which we have
